My grandad was a scrap man or a rag and bone man. My first memory of waste and recycling was watching a Blue Peter programme when I was small and being told that each can is worth .5p. So I went out that day and collected as many cans as I could. When I was 15 I developed a can crushing tool for my grandma as she struggled to squash tin cans. So I have always had a keen interest in waste and recycling!

As well as loving reducing waste, I also adore my wife and we have a baby on the way!

I have been involved in the most exciting changes in UK waste management over the last 10 years. I have learned a great deal about how to improve the efficiency of waste management within public and private sector.

I am taking my skills and knowledge that I have developed and improving waste management in the UK and abroad.

www.warp-it.co.uk is a resource redistribution network and www.wasteaction.com is a waste management advisory and implementation service.
