The Environment Network

An on-line community for the environment sector

I keep hearing about companies putting solar panels on peoples houses for free to reap the feed in tariffs for these devices.

Recently I was talking to a couple of friends about this, and we thought if that was a good business proposition, wouldn't it be a better one to have a cooperative which could do this in the NE and reap the benefits for their members. ( I suspect the companies doing this are cherry picking the properties).

I'd like to open this up for discussion and also ask if there are any members of this network personally interested in having a part to play in this, whether organisational or they own a property which could be solar panelled ?

Hi Tony,

You might want to contact CORE, which is a North East based renewables co-operative.

Hope this helps,

Gareth

PS: One interesting development is that Local Authorities are now allowed to claim FITs.
I'll look into that,
thanks
Gareth
